Basic Functions of the position
§ Formulate, coordinate and implement all internal logistics activities in the area of responsibility.
§ Apply lean manufacturing principles and methods to develop efficient material handling processes for the movement of material throughout manufacturing facilities.
§ Develop standard processes and create SOP documents which support inventory accuracy.
§ Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering on system setup and relocation of work centers and new products.
§ Plan for efficient material movement processes and patterns within the plant, which may include movement of material by fork truck, tugger, conveyor, and automatic guided vehicle systems. Material delivery methods may also include sequencing and kitting.
§ Implement storage plans including supermarkets which have determined min and max storage levels and plan for every part (PFEP).
§ Use reports to perform analysis on inventory status for system maintenance.
§ Using AutoCAD or Visio, develop workstation layouts designed to maximize the efficiency of operators and create specialized brackets or other implements.
§ Develop and Maintain all material handling data and FlexNet parameters
§ Develop/Implement/ and Continuously Improve material flow plans to support efficient material flow within the facility.
§ Experience: 3+ years of manufacturing experience in a production environment. Proficient in the following: Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Lean Manufacturing Principles, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and AutoCAD. Applicant must possess strong troubleshooting skills along with a high sense of urgency and desire to learn.
§ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
