About the role and location

We have an opportunity for a Qualified Solicitor to join our Legal team at our UK Head Office in Weybridge, close to the train and town centre, with free parking on site.

About the role – Key Accountabilities

  • We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and organised Legal Counsel to provide support to the Legal Director – Europe on a wide range of legal matters.
  • The role involves working with a wide variety of stakeholders in the European business, including Sales, Procurement, Compliance, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT and Operational teams on a range of ad hoc queries, contracts and projects. 
  • The role will also involve providing legal support to The Park – Accolade Wines’ award-winning bottling facility near Bristol.
  • The Legal Counsel will have responsibility for the conduct and management of legal matters including:
  • Draft, negotiate, review and interpret agreements covering the full breadth of Accolade Wines’ European commercial activities including sale of goods agreements, contract packing, procurement, NDAs, licences, services, agency and trading agreements;
  • Management of external providers;
  • Management of disputes and litigation;
  • Assisting with development, delivery and implementation of policies and training;
  • Advising on regulatory changes, drafting and administration of legal policies and corporate legal matters; and
  • Supporting legal team administration and company secretarial matters as required.

The Legal Counsel will coordinate with colleagues from across the business as part of cross-functional teams addressing commercial matters.

About you

Ideally you will have experience advising in an in-house context with a strong commercial law background 2-4 years PQE.
Exposure to a broad range of commercial contracts and documents along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will have the ability to manage competing priorities and provide clear, commercial advice. You will be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and ideally have experience working with or for FMCG companies and experience in food/beverage law preferable.

You will have the flexibility to work out of office hours to accommodate the occasional call with our Australian colleagues and have the ability to travel to The Park site near Bristol,  if required.
