Your Responsibilities

As a Jr. Software Engineer located in Moline, IL for Developer Enablement at John Deere, you will be responsible for helping improve the quality of life of developers at John Deere.  To do this you will be expected to follow the below visison of this team :

We are constantly looking for ways to improve the experience of being a developer at John Deere.  We build or provide solutions that make it easy to do the right thing.  Sometimes that right thing is making infrastructure as code easier to start with or moving an application to the cloud by dockerizing it, or maybe its writing discoverable APIs for other internal apps.  We exist to find the constraints that are in our organization and alleviate them through our own good software development practices.

We are developer advocates.  When the developer community is struggling to adopt new better technology, we create an easier path for them to adopt it.  We spend time with our community and amplify their voice to see change that impacts the delivery to the end customer.

We are technical evangelists, when we see an opportunity to help grow John Deere’s technical journey, we will push that forward.  We focus on making it easier to do the right thing then if someone chooses a different path that adds less value, these processes will enable developers to control their own destiny, instead of us being their bottleneck.

This position is eligible for remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
