The Main Responsibilities

As a Design Intern in our North America Operations organization, you will work collaboratively with the order the team to assist with customer order fulfillment by designing a circuit path across the company network through network architecture, routing configurations, and documented design consumption rules.  Within the design responsibilities, accountable for producing an accurate design layout record that demonstrates an understanding of the products and their specifications offered by the company, and the scope of work requested on a customer order meets the product criteria. Tasks during the 10 weeks will have a direct impact on Lumen and our customers. The ideal intern will have technical skills with common languages in the industry.  You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions and work in a team environment.

– Update design systems
– Receive and review customer requests for wave and ethernet products
– Design customer solution utilizing available inventory and Network
– Use pro-system to activate network for design   
– Manage order milestones
 

What We Look For in a Candidate

•    Education Requirements 
o    Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 – May 2023.
o    Major/Degree: Pursuing a degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, MIS, Telecommunications, Operations Management or a related field

•    Proficiency and understanding of:
o    Microsoft Suites 
o    General Tech acumen 

•    Professional Attributes
o    Strong drive for results and taking initiative 
o    Eager to learn and dive into tech
o    Desire to be taught, mentored, and molded 
o    Intrinsically motivated to meet deadlines and achieve goals
o    Creative thinker who will think outside the box and ask questions
o    Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions
o    Strong written and verbal communication skills

•    Work Setting
o    Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Broomfield, CO, Tulsa, OK, or remote 
o    Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
o    Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location if not remote (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
