This position requires an individual with exceptional regulatory and technical knowledge of a dynamic and extremely complex fleet. They must be able to technically understand and advice on how specific problems occurred and the best possible corrective action for short term resolution and permanent corrective action for long term resolution. Additionally, this position will provide statewide data analytics for the entire fleet operations. They must possess the knowledge to quickly and accurately gather, synthesize. provide recommendations and fix problems proactively before they happen. Lastly this person will possess the ability to fully understand how to technically modify the specifications of our vehicles, trucks, and equipment to push our units closer to perfection. This position would also be responsible for updating the Fleet Management Guide and the creation of all field operation bulletins. This position would also have the responsibility to be the single point of contact for all technical aspects between the manufacture and the field operations. Along with these duties this position with also provide subject matter expertise in creating and supporting statewide contacts.
- Provide complex and details technical support to all fleet operations, including but not limited to A/E Master Mechanics and Fleet Acquisition.
- Provide complex data analytics through statistical analysis and external benchmarking of best in class operations to the fleet operations.
- Provide recommendations and best in class solutions to defects in our unit specification process to increase the quality of our units after purchase.
- Provide proactive solutions to issues before they occur
- Provide field leader coverage when and where necessary
- Deliver presentation based, data driven recommendations to Director of Fleet and Exec Director of Business Services
- 5 or more years of related exempt work experience in the applicable field and a Bachelor’s degree
- Less than a Bachelor’s degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance (13+ years).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Technology
- 5-7 years working within a Fleet Maintenance Operation
- Computer skills specifically around Fleet Management Programs and various Microsoft Applications
General technical analysis supports the planning, technical analysis, general management, negotiations, transactions, customer services and auditing of a wide variety of technical and business functions and technical processes of specific operating and support areas throughout the company. Duties and who this individual report to will fluctuate between projects, departments and offices. Lead and/or assist with technical support for the plans, reports, impacts, contracts, schedules, estimates, data collection, observation, and field investigation. Provide technical, non-engineering support services with accuracy, on time and under budget. Use computer assisted applications software and equipment to prepare technical support documents. Understand and follow company established standard procedures for file structure and standard procedures for projects. Become familiar with business and technical plans and related material for each project and be able to utilize the information appropriately. Assists in client contact and communication. Utilize effective communication skills to answer inquiries from coworkers, clients, or the public. Public involvement may include producing reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasional speaking or meeting with stakeholders. Attend internal and external meetings. Provide technical support services in a legal and ethical manner.
Hours and Travel
This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 70-80% of time spent in the office or specific field locations.
