Position Summary

Bechtel is seeking a Finance GL/AP Coordinator Supervisor for the Mining & Metals team, based in Peru. The position will be responsible for performing field project accounting work providing general assistance with the functions of General Ledger and Accounts Payable, as required on the day-to-day operations. Works with the different project accounting teams, such as Billing and Accounts Payable, to ensure that all revenue and cost transactions are properly accounted for and accurately recorded. Produces accounting reports and analyses related to project costs.

Supports the Peruvian statutory reporting requirements and assist with those requirements as they pertain to the project.




The Finance GL/AP Coordinator Supervisor is principally responsible for:

  • Maintains varied accounting, financial, and statutory records.

  • Monitors the status of employee receivables as they pertain to the project and work with project management to ensure that all accounts are current.

  • Provides support to the project team with respect to expense reports, timesheets and payroll queries.

  • Performs analysis of financial information, estimates of costs and preparation of forecasts and ad-hoc management reporting as required by Project Management.

  • Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

The Finance GL/AP Coordinator Supervisor shall be knowledgeable and/or experienced in:

  • Associate bachelor’s degree or related technical training.  At least 4 years of accounting experience.


Additional Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.

  • Basic knowledge of general business practices.

  • Solid knowledge of internal controls and the ability to develop and interpret accounting procedures and reports.

  • Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Experience with the Oracle suite of applications, such as GL and AP.

  • General accounting knowledge, problem-solving, account analysis, and financial adjustment skills.

  • Proficient with MS Office suite of applications (e.g. Word, Excel).

  • Must have the legal right to work in Peru without sponsorship.
