Job Summary


As a Safety & Training Manager, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a department wide safety program to include education of hourly and management associates within the hospital housekeeping department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Plan, coordinate, and execute all new-hire training, education of staff members and management trainees on both one-on-one and small group levels.
•    Responsible for the Weekly Minders and Safety Minders programs
•    Responsible for promoting, enforcing, maintaining and verifying QA/ Safety standards in accordance with Industry and Compass standards
•    Responsible for providing QA/ Safety training for salary and hourly associates
•    Perform unit level QA/ safety audits
•    Provide written feedback to unit managers regarding non-compliance observations after Quality Audits and inspections are completed
•    Work with managers to find solutions to QA/ safety challenges and crisis
•    Report all QA/ safety and occupational safety issues to RRM that are identified at the time of routine account inspections/audits
•    Liaison with other Safety Training Coordinators, Corporate Safety and HR / Training staff and hospital resources
•    Oversees computer-based QA program
•    Participate in external audits with third parties
•    Complete corrective action plans that include preventative measures
•    Work with Managers to ensure all corrective /preventative actions are effective and sustained
•    Develop and work with Managers on continual improvement plans
•    Train associates on QA/ safety policies and procedures and maintain accurate records
•    Verify that the QA system is effective and make changes as necessary
•    Work with managers to reduce violations and repeat violations
•    Customize training documentation forms as required
Education, Training, and Experience:
•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
•    At least one year of supervisory experience in housekeeping, food or high service related field required
•    Demonstrated experience with process and program management
•    Training experience preferred
•    Bilingual Spanish a plus.
•    Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
•    Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
•    Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
•    Must understand and conceptualize working knowledge of EVS to meet established goals and objectives
•    Must be proficient in the use of MS Office including but not limited to Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
