About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a system administrator/engineer II whose primary responsibility is to configure and manage a Cumulocity IoT solution. This role offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated security professional to be involved in improving the security posture of Boston Scientific’s medical systems and devices.
The candidate must have a combination of strong communication and technical skills in order to manage and support the functional and technical aspects of a product cybersecurity program and work collaboratively with a team of internal staff and consultants to execute its components. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of analysts, IT/R&D engineers, and architects supporting pre and post market cybersecurity activities. The ideal candidate will have an IT security background working with the Cumulocity IoT platform and be looking to utilize those skills on medical devices. This candidate may also be called upon to be a backup resource for other product security related platforms.

Within the Global Product Cybersecurity Team, we assist our business partners by delivering cost-effective solutions to remotely manage and support multiple lines of business. We additionally assist by consulting with our business partners on technologies, investigating technical solutions to business problems, and guiding them on product cybersecurity.
This role is part of the Cybersecurity and Device Management team residing within the Global Research and Development organization, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Global Product Cybersecurity.
Fully participates in and successfully contributes to product teams including the following activities: deployment of content to medical devices, retrieval of data from medical devices, troubleshooting the device management platform, performing tests, and process/test documentation
Works independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines
Works with leadership to ensure SLAs are met and to schedule major activities
Works with product teams to understand needs while meeting those needs in a secure fashion
Monitors status of content deliveries and independently prepares reports on status for product teams
Monitors status of device management platform and independently prepares reports for distribution to BSC leadership, product teams, and team leadership
Performs system maintenance activities
Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from gathered data
Invents/creates concepts and designs for new services or processes and submits idea disclosures
May train and/or provide knowledge transfer to technicians or product team members
Works cooperatively as needed with process development, quality, regulatory, clinical, and marketing to ensure project success

Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements)
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years Information Technology experience
- Traits of being an independent thinker, problem solver, and self-starter with strong communication skills
- Understanding of REST and JSON technologies
- Experience with programming and scripting
- Understanding of Information Technology security concepts
- Experience with Software AG Cumulocity IoT platform
