We need somebody with the full suite of communications skills. You can advise business leaders on how to engage employees. You can pitch and land earned media that makes MIM top of mind among potential clients. You can master the fundamentals of the asset management industry. You can partner with the business and marketing to achieve strategic priorities. And central to it all, you can write copy that is clear, crisp and compelling.

Working with the VP of Communications for MIM, the Communications Director will serve as a business partner providing internal communications counsel and support to the President of MIM/Chief Investment Officer and execute on a range of employee communications priorities. In addition, partnering with the VP, the Institutional Client Group, and the Marketing team, you will help drive external awareness of MIM’s value proposition.

MIM is a leading global asset manager with approximately 800 employees across its home office in Whippany, N.J., other offices in the United States, and locations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. With $665 billion of total assets under management as of Sept. 20, 2021, MIM is one of the 50 largest asset managers in the world.  


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the President of MIM/Chief Investment Officer with strategic internal communications that help achieve business objectives and drive employee engagement.
  • Support the VP and key business leaders on elevating the external profile and attractiveness of MIM to current and potential third party clients, including the development and approval of company news releases, proactive tier-one and trade-media pitches, reactive interview requests, and external speaking opportunities, among others.
  • Provide counsel to senior leaders on communications strategies and secure buy-in on approaches.
  • Write superlative prose that empowers leaders to communicate effectively with all key stakeholders.
  • Simplify complex ideas into clear, concise and compelling messages that resonate with all audiences.
  • Effectively manage and deliver communications through a variety of channels using current and emerging communications technology.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • At least 10 years of experience in financial communications.
  • Experience setting an internal communications strategy and executing against the plan, while providing senior executives with sound advice and guidance across all communications activities.
  • A track record of success executing integrated internal/external communications plans across multiple channels and using metrics and feedback to guide future communications.



  • Expert writing ability. Mastery of grammar and style. Ability to produce powerful prose.
  • Able to balance competing priorities to produce high-quality, accurate work under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of finance and/or asset management, with a passion to achieve mastery.
  • A team player who pitches in, shares knowledge, and works effectively in a matrixed environment requiring strong partnership with others.
