Summary of role:

In AIB the Chief Data Office sits within the Data & Analytics Department. Within the Chief Data Office the Data Management & Governance team set and govern effective information management best practice and policy. The team plays a hands on role in supporting the business and data business partners to comply with data management frameworks and policies.


The team coordinates the inputs to the Data & Analytics executive governance fora while also ensuring outputs and actions from these fora are managed to completion. Frequent regulatory changes and requirements mean the team’s remit is constantly growing. This keeps things interesting.  


We’re looking for someone who:

  • Develop and review policies and standards in the area of information management;
  • Prepare professional content for the bank’s information management and governance committees;
  • Track to closure all action plans to address any findings made by auditors or regulators;
  • Ensure data management change requests are processed accurately and within timelines;
  • Define and govern data management processes to be implemented across the bank;
  • Develop key relationship within the bank to progress the data management and governance agenda.

You will need to show us that you can/have:


  • Have an understanding and experience of financial services industry and regulations.
  • Have a proven track record of success in a governance, compliance or business management role.
  • Are professionally qualified with a degree or postgraduate qualification in Business Studies, Information Management or Law.
  • Have extensive knowledge of information management principles and practice.
  • Have strong written and oral communications and experience presenting to senior stakeholders.


  • Have sufficient technical Skills – Microsoft office suite particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Nice to have: SQL; SAP; JIRA; Confluence.
