The role


As a Customs and Trade Operations Representative you will play a key role in helping the company maintain and develop its strong expertise within the area of Customs and Trade. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic individual who has gained experience in customs matters and can easily apply this expertise in different setups. The Customs and Trade Operations Representative must exhibit a compliance biased mindset and have an ability to understand, translate and follow complex external and internal procedures Working as part of a small team, this role has a strong focus on ensuring that the company conducts its import and export business within full compliance of applicable legislation and laws supported through the ERP system SAP.




  • Gather monthly import/export overviews from our external customs agents and conduct periodic audits to evaluate the customs processes executed by internal customs teams and external customs agents.
  • Auditor role to execute correct monitoring of import/export procedures, HS codes, procedures, incoterms, etc.
  • Review and create internal customs working procedures.
  • Understanding of duty mitigation opportunities, including free trade agreements and duty suspension programs.
  • Provide insight to Business, Procurement, Logistics and Customer Service on the usage of incoterms.
  • Liaison officer between departments for cross-department issues/projects.
  • Develop and maintain the knowledge of applicable policies and regulations.
  • Resource person for local customs authorities in view of existing customs licenses.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of the compliance activities of other departments (e.g. support on AEO registration and maintenance to Global Trade and Compliance)


Your background & qualifications


  • Bachelor’s in international Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Law or has developed a strong experience in these areas
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience within customs, trade, customer service, operations
  • Fluent in English
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and knowledge of SAP is an advantage
