Position Summary

The BIM Manager reports to the GBU Chief Engineering over Engineering Automation and will lead BIM execution for various projects. Great flexibility and proven judicious data reporting & analysis are necessary for this high visibility and significant knowledge-based role. This position provides technical expertise and guidance to senior and line management in the development of plans and programs designed to meet judicious business objectives and initiatives of the project.



The BIM Manager will lead BIM execution and work closely with engineering managers, design consultants, equipment suppliers, construction contractors throughout the project delivery cycle, including:

  • Monitoring and maintaining project-level CDE and associated workflow (i.e., model coordination, collaboration, model federation, model health, LOD compliance, and clash management) in alignment with scope, including routine CDE validation checks for compliance to project standards
  • Assessing BIM capacity & capability of the supply chain during tender & bidding
  • Reviewing lead appointed parties’ BIM Execution Plans. Verifying that contractor’s BIM processes, data quality, and completeness tools have been put in place
  • Ensuring CDE workflows with respect to design management, construction management, and change control have been institutionalized at the project level
  • Lead and conduct Model review and Clash management sessions with the AEC supply chain
  • Conducting project-specific required training and talent upskilling per identified needs


Specific Job Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of ISO19650 and application of those concepts and principles on projects
  • Industry BIM Certification (Revit Professional, CM-BIM, or related) is preferred
  • Must have knowledge of Autodesk and Bentley 3D/BIM authoring Platforms including features, functions, and limitations,
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with the following: Collaboration and data management solutions: BIM 360 Suite, Assemble, Synchro, Navisworks, 3D/BIM-enabled quantity take-off, and BIM-enabled estimating tools
  • Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), and other modern contractual delivery methods
  • Understands project workflows from design, estimation, coordination, construction support and fabrication
  • Knowledge of industry standards, workflows, data formats and inter-operability techniques
  • Proficient in oral and written communications skills. Collaborates well in a team environment
  • Ability to manage priorities and take on additional evolving responsibilities



Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

Level 1

  • BS or MS degree in Architectural, Engineering or Construction Management
  • 9+ years of experience in AEC, EPCM projects.

Level 2

  • BS or MS degree in Architectural, Engineering or Construction Management
  • 12+ years of experience in AEC, EPCM projects.


Preferred Qualification

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a BIM Manager/BIM Lead/VDC Manager leveraging and managing technology in facility design & construction.
